The sentences and picture illustrations in this book provide a sequence of events that students are asked to put in order of occurrence. What happened first? What happened next? What happened last? The student must be able to identify what each picture depicts and in what sequence the events take place. An example is, “First: She is running the race. Next: She is crossing the finish line. Last: She is getting an award.”
